We’re glad to let you know that Alpakka Kafka 2.0.5 is available now. This is primarily a maintenance release.
Alpakka Kafka 2.0.5 requires Akka 2.5.31 or Akka 2.6.6 (or later versions of Akka).
Better integration with the new actors API
Alpakka Kafka does now integrate better with both the classic Akka actors and the new actors API (Akka Typed).

The way forward
For now, we don’t have any updates for Alpakka Kafka 2.0 pending, but quite a few updates involve upgrading dependencies and thus ask for a 2.1 minor version upgrade. That includes upgrading to the Apache Kafka 2.6 client and dropping Scala 2.11 support and Embedded Kafka in the testkit #1114 .
We even consider dropping Akka 2.5 #1113 . If that doesn’t resonate with you, comment on the issues to discuss it.
