# Akka 2.6.0-M4 released

Dear hakkers,

The fourth development milestone for Akka 2.6 is out.

It would be excellent if you can try the milestones out and give us feedback. Akka 2.6 is binary backwards compatible with 2.5 with the ordinary [exceptions listed in the documentation](https://doc.akka.io/docs/akka/2.6/common/binary-compatibility-rules.html). Some configuration changes may be needed, please read the [migration guide](https://doc.akka.io/docs/akka/2.6/project/migration-guide-2.5.x-2.6.x.html) as a first step.

Some notable changes in 2.6.0-M4:

- Disable remote watch and remote deployment outside Cluster [#26176](https://github.com/akka/akka/issues/26176)

- Add mapMaterializedValue for Source/Flow withContext [#27201](https://github.com/akka/akka/pull/27201)
- Fix old regression in Cluster joining that may have caused longer time to join than necessary [#27169](https://github.com/akka/akka/issues/27169)
- Fix regression in ssl-config behavior on Scala 2.13 [#27142](https://github.com/akka/akka/issues/27142)
- Typed `StashBuffer`, align with other factory methods on `Behaviors` [#27198](https://github.com/akka/akka/issues/27198)
- Fix problems with Behavior interceptors decorating `EventSourcedBehavior` [#26953](https://github.com/akka/akka/issues/26953) [#25887](https://github.com/akka/akka/issues/25887)
- Remove `Behavior.orElse` [#27252](https://github.com/akka/akka/pull/27252)
- Reduce boilerplate for interaction with Typed DistributedData [#27116](https://github.com/akka/akka/issues/27116)
